ABSTRACT

Join us in this workshop to develop a chat bot from scratch, using the Bot Framework that automatically uses the different communication channels for you and let you just focus on the interaction with the user. You’ll also learn how to use the Language Understanding Intelligent Service and other Cognitive Services APIs to enrich your bot with intelligence and powerful algorithms.
Samples will be provided in different programming languages such as Node.js and C#.

– Microsoft Bot Framework environment: SDK, APIs and Bot Emulator
– Cognitive Services APIs for Vision, Speech, Language and Knowledge functionalities
– Language Understanding Intelligent Service (LUIS) for natural language understanding, Italian included
– Machine Learning model exposing an API for bot integration
– Create a Serverless environment on Microsoft Azure to deploy your bot application.

This workshop is dedicated to anybody interested in developing a chatbot as a font-end interface of a rich interaction between a human and a set of digital services.

PREREQUISITES NEEDED FROM ATTENDEES
– A basic knowledge of common programming languages (Node.js or C#)
– A basic knowledge about developing and consuming REST APIs
– A basic knowledge about common chat channels such as Facebook Messenger, Skype and Slack.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
– Bring your laptop running MacOs, Linux or Windows (latest os versions)
